Pest Tech exclusively employs pesticides and fumigants that have received approval from the Australian Pesticides & Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA), a department under the Department of Primary Industry and Energy. These products are registered for use in compliance with a Permit issued by either APVMA or a relevant State Authority.
What to Expect During a Pest Management Service
At Pest Tech, we prioritise the use of insecticides with the lowest mammalian toxicity for our internal treatments. These insecticides are applied in a manner that minimises airborne residue. Rest assured that you are more than welcome to remain at the property while our experienced technician carries out the necessary treatments.
In certain situations, depending on the severity of the infestation and the type of service being performed, we may request that you temporarily vacate an area of your home while the treatment is being conducted. This precaution ensures your safety and allows our technician to effectively address the pest problem.
If you haven't already discussed the specific details of your pest infestation/ pest service needs during your time of booking, please inform our onsite technician about the pests you have observed and their whereabouts.
Please note, floors around skirting and kickboards may have some liquid product remaining due to the service. It is advisable to avoid these areas until they have dried, which typically takes around 15-20 minutes.
Preparing for a Pest Management Service

Prior to treatment our technicians conduct a comprehensive evaluation allowing us to determine the most appropriate and efficient course of action.

These treatments may include the application of approved pesticides and fumigants in specific areas, strategic placement of baits and traps, thorough inspection and sealing of entry points, and implementing preventive measures to mitigate future infestations.
In preparation for your service and to optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of your treatment, we recommend the following:
1. Prior to our arrival, it is beneficial to complete housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming. Cleaned surface allows products to adhere better to the surface, leading to longer-lasting effects. This, in turn, increases the exposure of pests to the treatment, resulting in faster eradication without the need for additional service calls.
2. Ensure that any open food items are stored away from bench tops and tabled tops. This precaution helps prevent accidental contact with the treatment and ensures the safety of your food.
3. Clear any clutter or small items from floor areas, particularly around skirting/kickboards, when treatments are applied. It is not necessary to move large pieces of furniture away from walls for a General Pest Control service.
4. If you have birdcages, fish tanks, or ponds located under external windows or alongside internal walls, we kindly request that you cover them during the treatment process. This measure safeguards your pets and aquatic life from any potential exposure to the treatment.
5. Please relocate any stored items from under and around ceiling-void manholes to allow access to the roof cavity if required for your service.
6. Outside your home, rake, sweep, or blow away leaves and garden debris from paths and the edges of your home. By doing so, we can apply treatments precisely to the required areas without the risk of the treatment being removed at a later date.
7. Please refrain from removing any spiderwebs. To effectively eradicate spiders, they need to be treated directly. Our technicians will address the spider issue appropriately during the service and recommend a time frame before spiderwebs can be removed.
